Before / After

M saw another dentist in town who stuffed up his tooth. He was only a kid and ended up having that tooth pulled out. That was more than 10 yrs ago. He had never been to a dentist since and had clearly been indulging in Coke binge drinking which caused the smooth surface caries.

M has decided to clean up his act. He has switched to drinking water and plucked up the courage to visit the dentist. :D

BEFORE

AFTER

You can hardly see the fillings. I am so proud of myself. ;p The bleeding around the gum was caused by the polishing discs, which are like tiny sand paper, it's unavoidable when the decay is below the gum line. ;( The gum would heal up anyway :p hehe

M is happy, so am I. :D

nice work, DDU! did you even need to use retraction cord? out of every procedure, i think i like resto best - the results are imemdiate, there's hardly any overhead, and patients for the most part don't mind getting "fillings" because they are covered under insurance. and when done really well, they look fantastic! you must have really made an impact as well, i struggle to make dietary changes in a lot of my patients.

isn't it funny how we get praised for just putting back what should have been there in the first place?

dr.mommy, d.d.s.: I didn't use retraction cord, I just used the flat plastic to push the gingivae away. ;p For $27.60 per tooth taking more than an hour it's not worth my effort to use retraction cord. ;p Besides the practice manager'll be complaining about me wasting too much materials unnecessarily. Hmph. For restorations like this the other dentists at work only take 10 mins, so I'm not a very productive dentist but I'm too fussy with the shade. I actually filled that 3 times before I got a good match. :D The practice manager once told me you're not going to make a lot of money if you take that long so you might want to shorten your appoinment time a bit. She can jam it up her arse. ;p

sabrina: Of course not! Charisma sucks. We got some Gradia Direct samples so I've been using that, it gives a chameleon effect, doesn't stick to your instrument and doesn't set under the light (unless u leave it there for over half an hr). It's being marketed as Solare in Asia and the price is 50% less than here, not fair! I heard Filtek Supreme is good too but that's expensive stuff and I doubt my boss would get it.

dr oz bloke: Thank you thank you *bows* *curtsy*

flatfeet: Eeeeeeeeee I rather marry someone with such teeth than someone with no teeth. ;p But come to think of it I don't even want to marry anyone with rotten teeth. Imagine all those bacteria, plaque and calculus, eeeeeeeeew *puke*

consider veneering the lateral, will look well then! nice job on the comps. i find your posts amusing, there is allot of unsafe dentistry where i am in wales. 99% of crowns done are defective off the bat. labs are incompetent, dentists are also, no retraction cord and alginate for imps. root canals are all single point in a bed of sealer. fills have caries left under them. dentures are useless affairs. scale and polishes are done in 5 minutes flat. its a wonder that anything works at all here!
